Do I need any previous business experience?
No, enthusiasm and willingness to succeed are key ingredients to succeed. You will find that many of your skills and experience you have gathered through life will be useful and can be applied to running your own business.
Does it take a large investment to start a food tour?
No, beyond the cost of the course, you will need some working capital for everyday costs and marketing but these are very low in comparison to other start ups.
Do I need to devote a lot of time to running the business?
Like with any venture, the more you put in, the more you get out of it. However, with a Food Tour Operation, you control how much time you put into it and it can easily fit around other responsibilities.
How do I access the online course?
You will have five live sessions with the tutor which can be arranged at a time suitable to you both. Two sessions can be studied at your own pace. We recommend completing the modules at least one a week to keep the momentum going.
Will I have any course materials?
Yes, we provide you with a manual which we will use during the course which you will be able to refer to while running your own business.
Where does the workshop take place?
It will take place at a venue in Central Harrogate. Clear directions will be given to the venue.
Is Lunch included?
On the first day, you will participate in a food tour so you will enjoy the equivalent of a long lunch on that day. We will provide lunch on the second day as well as tea and coffee.
What about accommodation?
There is no shortage of good accommodation in Harrogate and we have our own accommodation partners we can recommend.
What will I take away from the workshop?
You will take away the manual provided and all the course notes for you to be able to refer to while running your own business.
Do I need to do the tour?
It is part of the workshop weekend. Those doing the online course will receive a voucher to take the tour at a time suitable to them. Tours are available in Harrogate and York.
Do I need to do the post course coaching?
It is not compulsory, but many do find it invaluable to have that extra ongoing support to push the business forward..
